I want to create an audio "pilot."

What does this mean?  Well what I envision is a monthly show featuring a regular cast of performers.  The episodes would run up to about an hour and follow a theme or a genre for the month.  The episodes may feature solos, group numbers, duets, skits and interviews, special guests, original songs or anything else you could think of that would work on an audio based show.  The possibilities here are really endless and this could be a really exciting and powerful tool for our own self-promotion and really just overall fun.   It's all about promotion and visibility. I think this is a great way to promote the talent we have in this community and I'm going to head up this project.  Once it's up and running we can have all sorts of cool segments like a "hall of fame" for online singers, feature new up and comers and original songs and all sorts of cool stuff.. anything is possible really!

The cast will be selected through an online competition in 4 stages.

• Casting Call - auditions will be accepted up to around 30 contenders.  Promotion will be done heavily during this period in hopes of getting a large variety of online talent.
• Boot Camp - All auditionees will be given a series of small challenges testing their abilities to work with others, these challenges will be short in nature but there will be several of them.  At the conclusion of this "boot camp" the contenders will be reduced to a core set of 14 finalists based on judges scores and an audience poll.
• Casting - Each week the contestants will compete within a weekly theme, the top contestant will be asked to join the cast of our show.  The remaining contestants will continue in the following week in a repeated attempt to win one of the coveted 8 spots.  The 6 not chosen, can remain as understudies in case anyone leaves the project for any reason.

Please Note:  As a collective panel, we know the value of good feedback and we will make all parts of our decision public for you as a contestant to help you along.  A scorecard will be kept with our comments, feedback and well-defined categories and scores.  You'll be given an overall grade on each challenge which you'll be able to see as an ongoing part of the website.

The Much Needed Info:

So, you're interested in auditioning?  Well what we need from you is the following:

a.) a "headshot" - send us your best picture.. one that shows your personality and gives us a little idea of what you're all about.  If you have a digital camera and you are gonna take a new picture.. be creative! Use props!  Dress up in your coolest garb and have fun!

b.) An audition of course!  Send a 30 second to 1 minute (within reason) clip of you singing you heart out.  (IN ACAPELLA!!!!)  Sing your absolute favorite song!  One that you feel represents who YOU are!  You dreams.. your desires.. your personality or just something special to you.

c.)  The general info you would expect, but I will list them anyway:  Name, Age, Location, Influences, and a short paragraph telling us what YOU feel you can bring to the show.  Add anything else you think we should know about you!  Again, be creative.. remember: this is your first impression and in this competition: the judges have a lot more say in what goes down.  Give us your all!
